[ASIDE: This photo was likely taken in late April of 1961, after C Flight knocked down 6 out of 6 drones at Tyndall AFB. Originally, this was an 8x10 AF photo, but it was cropped and pasted with another 8x10 ground unit group photo. This composite was then refilmed and used for a newspaper article (see Features). The problem with that is that ANY negative copy of an original photograph loses two shades of gray, as white and black are condensed toward each other. So that if the original photo had 7 shades of gray, the copy would have only 5...if you copied that print, the next negative would have only 3 shades of gray. Also the original negative was driven by the harsh noon sun and would have been condensed to begin with. If anyone has an original 8x10 print of this photograph, please let me know. GCW]
