COLUMBUS, Ohio - Thomas Evin Winters, 64, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at his home following an extended illness. Born Sept. 8, 1938, in New Lexington, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas Garrett and Anna Mae Giles Winters.
Mr. Winters was a retired electrician for I.B.E.W. Local No. 683, Columbus, Ohio. He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Sprouse Winters of Columbus, Ohio, and Flagler Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Vivian L. Burbridge and husband, Tank, of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers, David Winters of Columbus, Ohio, Paul Winters of Tampa, Fla., and Harold Winters of Waverly, Ohio; two sisters, Mary of Grove City, Ohio, and Helen of Danville, Ohio; four granddaughters, Vickie, Jennifer, Mandy and Elka; a grandson, Tony; and also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Winters.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Riverside Hospital, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214.
