Floyd "Pop" VanLeuven,
Cornwall, N.Y.

Floyd (Pop) VanLeuven of Cornwall, a retired Civil Service employee of USMA, West Point, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at Westchester Medical Center. He was 69. The son of Jennis and Aurelia Barley VanLeuven, he was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Cornwall. A 22-year Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he retired as a Senior Master Sgt. with several medals and ribbons. He was a 1949 graduate of Cornwall High School.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Chiarella VanLeuven, whom he married Feb. 4, 1951, in Sacred Heart Church, at home; one son, Floyd F., at home; one daughter, Sheila Manning and her husband George of New Windsor; two granddaughters, Michelle and Victoria Manning; one brother; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at DiDonato-Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, with Full Military Honors.
