Carl Rae Stacy


Carl Rae Stacy, 72, husband of Susie H. Stacy, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Hazard, Ky., he was a son of the late Estill Stacy and the late Cecil Hazlett Stacy. Mr. Stacy was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran. He was also retired from Cutler-Hammer and was a car driver for Boyle Toyota. He was a member of Stamping Ground Christian Church in Kentucky and attended Northside Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors besides his wife include a son, Dwayne Stacy of Sumter; two daughters, Karin S. Brown and her husband, Mark, and Kathy S. Stacy, all of Sumter; grandchildren, Theo, David, Stephanie, Ashton, Kenzlee and Zachary; a brother, Charles Glenn Stacy; and two sisters, Ann Lois Ross and Betty Jean Frank. He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn R. Stacy, and a sister, Mildred Frishkorn.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Holley and Harold Kirkland officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium, 515 Miller Road, Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
