Herman Sims, 72, Palmetto, died January 15, 2007. He was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Hernando County and came to Palmetto many years ago. He retired as a tech sergeant in the Air Force. He was pastor of Elsie Harvey Memorial Church of the Living God.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; daughters Carolinda Batson, Sheila McDaniels and Valerie; a son, Vincent; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Westside Funeral Home in Palmetto. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Elsie Harvey Memorial Church of the Living God in Bradenton. Burial will be Saturday at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto.
