George Serafin, U.S. Air Force, retired, born August 5, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, raised and educated in Newberry, Michigan, passed away at his Tacoma home of 25 years on October 13, 1999 at the age of 78. Survivors include: Gerda, wife of 42 years; son, David Serafin of Seattle; daughter, Debra Serafin of Graham; sister, Janet Serafin of Downers Grove, IL; brother, Michael Serafin (Marylou) of Hockessin, DE; sister and fishing companion, Mary Leazier (Jim) of Newberry, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many wonderful friends. He will be missed by all. To honor his wishes, a private service will be held.
