Morton H. Rabinowitz of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Spring Valley, NY, passed away at his residence on December 3, 2005.
Mr. Rabinowitz was born in the Bronx on November 26, 1937 to Samuel and Betty Rabinowitz. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Judith (nee Edler), cherished by his children, Lawrence and Susan Rabinowitz of Hillsdale, NJ, Matthew and Susan Rabinowitz of Williamsville, NY, and Daniel Rabinowitz of Norwalk, CT. He was blessed by having his grandchildren, twins Jack and Emily, Kate, Lauren and Zachary. He was also survived by his sister, Doris Bader of Montebello, NY, nephew Steven and his wife Priscilla Bader of Weston, CT, great-nieces, Rachel and Lauren, several cousins, and predeceased by his niece, Robin Bader.
Mr. Rabinowitz was a graduate of Spring Valley High School in 1956. He attended Rockland Community College and served proudly in the United States Air Force where he received a Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid ball player in the Rockland County Adult Softball League, a participant in initiating the Earl Shiff Little League of Spring Valley, one of the founding members of the West Clarkstown Jewish Center and a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge # 485.
He retired as a sales executive for Castle Oil Corporation in Harrison, NY. Mr. Rabinowitz valued his relationships with his extended family, friends and co-workers.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 7th, 2005 at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY. Interment will take place at the Frederick W. Loescher Cemetery, Monsey, NY. Shiva will be observed at the home of his dear cousins' residence, Michael and Joanne Kramar.
