OICKLE, Robert Wayne "Bob" - 65, Wolfville, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2001, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Bridgetown, he was the only child of the late Edward and Eleanor (Banks) Burns. He was a veteran with the United States Air Force, serving in Africa for several years. During his working career, he was employed as a retail manager with Grants Department Store in the United States and later with Zellers. He also worked in the Canex at CFB Cornwallis.
He is survived by his wife, the former Beverly Collins; stepdaughter, Donna (Mrs. Michael Bonaparte), Sydney, Cape Breton; stepson, Frederick Westlund, California; stepsister, Eleanor (Mrs. Raymond Moore), Deep Brook, Annapolis Co. He was predeceased by his adopted parents, Louis and Viola (French) Oickle.
No visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 12, in the home of Raymond and Eleanor Moore, 284 Highway 1, Deep Brook, Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Burial will take place in Spurr-Moore Cemetery, Deep Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses.
