BETHERA - Retired Air Force Sgt. Paul L. Mitchum, 70, died Wednesday in a Summerville hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Russell Funeral Chapel in Moncks Corner. Burial will be in Berea United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Mitchum was born in Berkeley County, a son of Walter Mitchum and Julia Phillips Mitchum. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnne Steadman Mitchum; three sons, Dusty L. Mitchum of Kingsland, Ga., Glenn T. Mitchum of Bethera and Mark K. Mitchum of Moncks Corner; a daughter, Donna M. Evans of Moncks Corner; five brothers, Walter F. Mitchum of Macedonia, Harold Mitchum of Manchester, Ga., James Mitchum of Kenly, N.C., Russell Mitchum of Rome, Ga., and Relma Mitchum of Clinton; three sisters, Ethel M. Amerson of Charleston, Elizabeth M. Wyndham of Moncks Corner and Eldora M. Bible of Laurens; and 12 grandchildren.
