Richard Frank Menghi, 58, Kansas City, MO, died Friday, May 1, 1998, in Auburn, NE. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 8001 Longview Rd., Kansas City, MO; burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Monday at the Carson Funeral Home Blue Ridge Chapel, with a rosary at 6 p.m. and a Masonic service at 8 p.m. Mr. Menghi was born July 29, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY. He moved to Kansas City four years ago from Texas. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Menghi was an electrical engineer for Enercon Services Inc. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Menghi, of the home; daughters, Connie J. Menghi, of the home, Jackie Bowling, Simpsonville, SC, Betty Schlageter, Cannapolis, NC, Deborah Renner and Diane Barbour, both of North Kingston, RI; sons, Rick Menghi, North Kingston, RI, James Menghi, Martinez, GA; a stepdaughter, Leslie Kitchings, Hephzibah, GA; stepson, Scott Rangel, Kansas City, MO; sisters, Elsie Anderson, Old Saybrook, CN, Joyce Flynn, Beacon, NY, Betty Hopkins, West Islip, Long Island, and Janice Bernard, Brookville, MD; a brother, George Menghi, Houston, TX; and 12 grandchildren.
