Mortuary obituary
James W. Mellors, age 61, of East Main Street, Ripley, NY, died Monday May 1, 2007, at his home with his family at his side. He was born December 20, 1945 in Centerville, Pa., the son of the late Frank R. and Charlotte Baker Mellors. He had served with the US Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He was employed as a Locomotive Tester with GE in Erie from 1970 until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Praise Cathedral Church in North East.
Mr. Mellors is survived by his wife Karen Carlson Mellors, whom he married August 31, 1968; two sons, Steven J. [Tammie] Mellors and Thomas [Jennifer] Mellors both of Ripley; a daughter Sarah Mellors of Ripley; two brothers Richard Mellors of Ripley and David Mellors of Westfield; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 West Main Street, Ripley, on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday 4-8 p.m. and are invited to attend the services there on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Mike Grove officiating. Interment will be held privately in the Quincy Rural Cemetery, Ripley.
