Norris W. Mayberry


Norris W. "Skip" Mayberry, 66, of Moncks Corner, a retired owner and operator of Berkeley Aviation, died Tuesday at a Charleston hospital.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner. Burial will be private.

Mr. Mayberry was born May 25, 1935, at Pageton, W.Va., a son of William C. Mayberry and Clara Ayers Mayberry. He was a graduate of Pocohontas High School and attended the University of Maryland. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Hagen Hunt Club, the Berkeley Aviation Club and A.O.P.A. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Dickens Mayberry of Moncks Corner; son, Bill Mayberry of Columbia; daughter, Revonda M. Hardesty of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Melba Jones of Tampa, Fla., Gail Mayberry of Lake City, Fla.; brother, Oid C. Mayberry of Reevesville, N.C., three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, S.C. 29406.
