Jerry Maners, age 64, of Kennewick, WA, died Friday, November 11, 2005, at the V.A. Hospital in Seattle, WA.
Jerry was born on March 19, 1941, in Jackson, TN, the son of Oscar & Ina Marie (Taylor) Maners. As a young man, Jerry enlisted in the Air Force and worked on jet airplanes as a mechanic for 4 years and then joined the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and trained as a journeyman electrician. He worked the trade and traveled the United States for 35 plus years. Jerry was a master at his craft, known by all who worked with him as an excellent teacher, hard working, honest, and funny man...known for strong beliefs in the rights of union workers.
Jerry will be remembered by his family as a man who loved them so much, who gave unselfishly of himself, who would always make you laugh, who was always uplifting about life and when he put his strong arms around you, you felt loved and secure, a good place to be. His greatest joys in life were his family and friends and the simple things in life, being outdoors, fishing, a good cup of coffee, and sunsets. Our hearts are torn apart from losing you, so great is our loss of those you leave behind, but we are grateful for the time that you were ours, and we take, and will live with, the goodness and strength that you have given us.
Jerry is survived by his soul mate and lifetime partner, Patricia Cancholar; his five children, Randall Maners, Joshua Maners, Dayna Lane, Jason Varnadore, & Jennifer Bury; his grandchildren, Tim, Leah, Madison, & Joshua Maners, Amanda, Eliana, & Jeana Varnadore, Brice & Brock Maners, Sean Davis, Mariah Layne, Cassandra & Abby Brasiel, Caleb and Abram Bury; brothers, Grady & Bill Maners; sisters, Betty Jean Lewis Maners (sic); and numeous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ina Marie Maners; brother Jack Maners; and sister Alma Doris Maners. We will keep you in our hearts and take with us all the goodness you gave. We will see you in Heaven.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2005, from 5-8 p.m. and funeral services will be on Friday, November 18, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union, Kennewick, WA.
