Larry D. Levell

Larry D. LeVell, 65, passed away in Reno, Nevada on October 28, 2002 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born 7-10-37 in Picher, Oklahoma.

Beloved husband to his precious wife of 44 years, Sonie; loving father of sons, Bryan and LeMonte LeVell of Reno, Nevada and daughter, Tawnya DuMond of Helena, Montana; and dearly loved by his 8 grandchildren; his mother, Marge LeVell of Santee, California; his brothers, Leonard, Donald and Jimmy LeVell of Southern California and his sisters, Charlene Rockefeller of Santee, California and Sherri Hansen of Sanford, S.D. He was preceded in death by his father. Jack R. LeVell.

His family moved to Southern California when he was a child. He served in the US Air Force for 21 years. Upon his honorable discharge as a Tech Sargent, Larry and Sonie moved to Reno; Larry subsequently retired from Harrah's Reno after 22 years as an electronic technician.

An avid bowler, Larry also enjoyed camping, and cooking for his friends and family. His favorite pastime, however, was hot-air ballooning - being only 15 minutes short of earning his solo pilot's license.

Larry, with his friendly smile, quick wit, and generous nature, will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

The memorial service will be at Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno, on Sat., November 2, 2002, 2:00 PM.
