Mr. Norman W. Keesler, loving husband and father, age 71, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his residence. He was born in Lewis Run, Pa., and had lived in Panama City for 31 years. Mr. Keesler was retired as a senior master sergeant, serving 21 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served as a high priest.
Mr. Keesler is survived by his wife of 52 years, Etta Keesler, of Panama City; three sons, Clifford L. Keesler and his wife, Candy, of Camdenton, Mo., David H. Keesler and his wife, Rachelle, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Todd A. Keesler and his wife, Pam, of Lynn Haven; an honorary son, David Hagood and his wife, Betty, of Parker; a brother, Donald Keesler and his wife, Helen, of Bradford, Pa.; two sisters, Betty Casey of Manchester, N.H., and Dolores Gifford of Smithport, Pa.; and his grandchildren, Autumn Zeisset, Aaron, Andrew and Wesley Keesler, Robert Keesler, Tiffany Hanson, Nicole, Wesley K., Timothy and Daniel Keesler, Cheryl and Melanie Keesler, and Sara Anderton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Gertrude Keesler; a sister, Dorothy Butler; an infant brother, Chester Keesler; and a great-grandson, Chance Keesler.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 20, 2001, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3140 State Ave., with Bishop Phil Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will include David Hagood, Robert Inman, Robert McComb, Jerry Guynn, Sonny Shuler and Wilford Jordan. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the church from 11 a.m. until service time today.
