RICHARD C. HESS


Richard C. Hess, 48, of Peculiar in Cass County, died Oct. 1, 1992, at the home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dickey Chapel, Harrisonville; military graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Springfield (Mo.) National Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Shirley Jean Frye-Cummins Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield.

Mr. Hess was born in Mount Lookout, W.Va., and lived in Millington, Tenn., before moving to Peculiar in 1991. He had been a warehouseman for the U.S. Department of Commerce in Kansas City since 1991. Earlier he was a housekeeping supervisor at the hospital of the Naval Air Station at Millington. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Hess of the home; two sons, Richard Arthur Raider, Knoxville, Tenn., and Ryan Keith Hess of the home; a daughter, Amanda Sue Hess of the home; his mother, Inez Hess, Fort Mill, S.C.; four brothers, Robert K. Hess, Rochelle, Ill., Curtis Hess and James Hess of Mount Lookout and Rudolf "Sonny" Hess, Fort Mill; and two sisters, Sharon Lilly, Nallen, W.Va., and Bill Kouns, Chillicothe, Ill.

RICHARD CLINTON HESS


Richard Clinton Hess, 48, of Peculiar, Mo., formerly of Millington, warehouse worker for the Department of Commerce in Kansas City, Mo., and a former housekeeping supervisor at Memphis Naval Air Station Hospital, died Thursday at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dickey Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Mo., with graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday at Springfield (Mo.) National Cemetery. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Hess, the husband of Linda Hess, also leaves a daughter, Amanda Sue Hess of Peculiar, and two sons, Ryan Keith Hess of Peculiar and Richard Arthur Raider of Knoxville; his mother, Inez Hess of Fort Mill, S.C.; two sisters, Sharon Lilly of Nallen, W.Va., and Bill Kouns of Chillicothe, Ill., and four brothers, Robert K. Hess of Rochelle, Ill., Curtis Hess and James Hess, both of Mt. Lookout, W.Va., and Rudolf Hess of Fort Mill.
