CUSSETA (AL) - Funeral services for Williams Michael Hanna, 62 of Cusseta, will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 18 at Fredericks Funeral Home with the Reverend Billy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at Fredericks Funeral Home, Opelika, Ala.

William "Mike" Hanna, who was born Sept. 24, 1941 in Dighton, Kan., to the late Edna and Williams Hanna, left this world to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 15 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus (GA). Mike grew up in Gove, Kan., where he graduated from Gove County High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965 after which he attended Opelika State Technical College from 1966 to 1968. Mike was employed at Auburn University from 1968 until his retirement in 1995, at which time he went to work for Wittichen Supply Company in Opelika until his death.

He loved gardening and enjoyed woodworking and working with anything mechanical. Mike always liked to help people.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Gloria Hanna of Cusseta (Beulah Community); three sisters, Joyce (Bill) Beougher, Pat Chapin of Gove, Kan., and Beverly (Ed) Chapman of Las Cruces, N.M.; and a host nieces, nephews and other family members. Mike also leaves behind and will be sorely missed by many wonderful; and very special friends. God bless Randy Green of Columbus, Ga.
