William G. Eldridge


Funeral services for William "Bill" G. Eldridge, 62, Roseville, were held Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Corman Memorial Home, Roseville. The Rev. Betty Weaver, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated and interment was in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth.

Mr. Eldridge died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at 2:21 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Memorials may be made to the Roseville Ambulance Service of to the First Baptist Church.

The son of James Gaylord and Irene Louise (Swigart) Eldridge, he was born Sept. 17, 1940, in Galesburg. He married Mary L. Sims Nov. 8, 1970, in Roseville, who survives.

He also leaves: his mother in Galesburg; two daughters, Jennifer Luan Eldridge, Galesburg, and Jodi Lynn Eldridge, Roseville; a brother, James Lee (Lyn) Eldridge, Brandon, Miss.; a sister, Janet (John) Lichtenaver, Melvern, Kan.; and 14 nieces and nephews.

His father preceded him in death.

Mr. Eldridge grew up in Roseville and graduated from Roseville High School. He served 20 years with the Air Force during the Vietnam War and in Alaska and England as a master sergeant and jet mechanic.

He returned to Roseville in 1981 where he was employed at Bagley Sales & Service, and for the past 15 years worked for Postin Pit Stop in Avon. He was of Christian faith.
