Henry Newman Elam, 25, of Route 3, Goldsboro, died in the Veteran Administration hospital in Durham early this morning. He was originally from Texarkana, Texas.

Surviving are his wife, the former Theodosia Stewart; one son, William Bernard Elam of the home; and his mother, Mrs. W. P. Mayfield, of Texarkana, Texas.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

There is Another Story Here...

Henry's son, William Bernard Elam, was born four weeks before Henry died. The baby grew to a man and, like his father, joined the Air Force. The son died at age 23. He is buried next to his father.
