Services for Marion "Dick" Dixon will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Macon Memorial Park with full military honors. Dixon, 64, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998. He was born in Hartsville, S.C., and lived in Lizella for most of his life. He was the son of the late Carol and Annie Rhodes Dixon. He was owner/operator of Electronics Alternative and was retired as staff sergeant from Warner Robins Air Force Base with 22 years of active duty with the Air Force. He was a Methodist and was an amateur ham radio operator and enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife, Peggie Dixon of Lizella; children, Deletta Hall, David Dixon, Beverly Mashburn, Connie Houlihan, and Denise Burgin, all of Warner Robins, Phillip Hammock of Lizella, Danny Hammock of Fort Valley, and Chelle Walker of Culloden; brothers and sisters, Callie Goodings and Richard Dixon, both of Winnsboro, S.C., Levern Dixon of Darlington, S.C.; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, and may be contacted at the residence, 6942 S. Rogers Road, Lizella, 31052. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Bibb Unit, P.O. Box 2065, Macon 31203.
