482nd F.I.S.:

A/2C Robert Gray,
his older brother,
& A/2C Oliver Emigh in
Washington, DC

Nov 9, 1958. When Bob's brother showed up, he wanted to see Washington, so four of us took a weekend drive...on pennies. Bob and Emigh had enough money to over-night at the YMCA while Bob's brother and I spent a cold night in the car. Every couple hours we would go down the street to a cafe and get a cup of coffee...and the current hit song we heard over and over again that night was the Kingston Trio's "Tom Dooley."

Bob Gray is standing tall on the wall, and Oliver Emigh is left, with the older Gray on the right...I can't remember his name to save myself. Emigh was given to fits of anger, and became quiet violent during those, but was well behaved this weekend. [Emigh grew up to become a member of the Texas secessionist group, "Republic of Texas."
