I remember taking this photo on the second floor fire escape of our barracks at Seymour Johnson. I had known Curt since Lowry AFB where we had schooled, barracked, and occasionally bummed around together. Nord was from Texas...the area where you went to town on Saturday night with a revolver in your back pocket. And he was always hard.
Seems like when we talked a few years ago that he said that he had stayed in the service and then after retirement went to work as a guard in the penitentiary system. Curt returned to Goldsboro and lives there now...again, if memory is correct, it was where his wife's family was from.
