Generally, over the last 15/20 years, the 482nd Reunion was held at Goldsboro, on the third weekend of May in even number years, (annually, since 2004). In the odd number years, Tom & Carol Sutton hosted a "Pig Picking" at their home in Wayne County for the local area 482nd members who wished to attend. Several came in from other states. The photo above (along with 8 others) was taken at one of these, likely near the turn of the century at 2001 or 1999. We're hoping someone might know/remember and can date this particular event. Also attending were the Parks, Pattons, Jean Leslie (Hatler's widow), and the Doss family...and several I do not know.
There are various things I like about this picture besides it being a really good photo. First off, I served with three of the four...Tom arrived just after I left. When I re-met Ralph in 2002, his cancer had already started the debilitation process --- so much so that I gasped when I saw this photo of him with a tummy and full face. And a thinner Fred standing taller --- and John at about his weight as he was always a tad to the heavy side. Life wouldn't be near as much fun, or as embarassing, without cameras. GCW
