Blaine arrived at the 482nd when we were first receiving aircraft in the spring of 1957. He accompanied us to the first Tyndall firing practice and on the Oceana NAS deployment in 1958 (renting a house at Virginia Beach with Lts. Stonestreet, McWhorter, and Tomlinson....which had to have been a memorable experience).
Blaine got along well with everybody and drove cool wheels. Like most of us, he managed to keep in touch with a few 482nd across the years.
